In my opinion, the most hurtful thing that you could say to someone isnt i hate you, you suck, or you arent good enough. 

the most hurtful thing to me is : i dont care.

saying “i dont care” tells me that you are indifferent to me. that what i say doesnt matter, what i do means even less. and that is hurtful.

to know that nothing i do or say matters to another. why is this person even in my life. i should not have to hear the word i dont care in response to something i say. If i am sharing something with you, then this should mean that you care about me, that you are willing to spend time with me, and that you are willing to listen. 

this implies that you are care about the things that i care about. And the things that i care about are the things that i talk about. 

i should have to hear the words “i dont care” come out from the mouth of anyone that i call a friend. 

the opposite of love isnt hate. its indifference.
